Deep Ellum Community Engagers 〰️
Community safety, built on connection.
The Deep Ellum Foundation has launched the Deep Ellum Community Engagers (DECE) Pilot Program: a community-based public safety initiative focused on proactive engagement, violence prevention, and trust-building during peak nightlife hours.
In partnership with Learn With Train LLC, trained Community Engagers are present in Deep Ellum to build relationships, de-escalate tensions, connect young people to resources, and help create a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.

The DECE Pilot Program advances the Deep Ellum Community Safety Plan 2.0 through prevention, relationship-building, and community partnership.
Developed by the Deep Ellum Foundation in partnership with Learn With Train LLC.
How it works
Community Engagers are trained credible messengers—visible, approachable team members who engage with people before situations escalate.
The pilot operates from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night through early August 2026.
